The take
An AI agent's business value and its authority should be evaluated together. A system that can execute a transaction, modify a record or invoke another service needs controls proportionate to those actions.
What I would ask management to demonstrate
- A named business owner and a defined permitted purpose.
- Limited credentials and explicit approval for consequential actions.
- Logs that support investigation without collecting unnecessary personal information.
- A tested way to suspend access and recover from a failed action.
Vendor assurance is one input to this assessment. The organization still needs to understand its own integrations, contractual responsibilities and operating dependencies. I would pause a specific deployment when its material risks cannot be controlled; the decision should reflect the use case rather than a blanket rule for every agent.
